6mm pitch gunome-zashi was our choice to offer good protection, comfort, and durability. The materials were carefully selected so that every penny invested by you is not wasted, and it helps you enjoy and advance in your Kendo journey.
The set was rigorously tested by multiple levels of kenshis, from beginners to seasoned senseis, put through harsh conditions, and put in every possible real-life situation to ensure we protect your asset.
Now available in standard, premium, and special editions, we hope that Haechi will bring your kendo up to the next level. Junior models are also available. Please see below for more information regarding this wonderful all-purpose, all-gender, all-rank bogu set.

The men‘s futon is based on a 6mm/ 3mm pitch gunome-zashi equipped with Takaibudogu Co. Ltd’s duralumin mengane. The heri is made with premium quality clarino, the kazari with premium rayon, ago with hon-zashi and 4-kazari, and the uchiwa is made with high-quality momen cotton.
One of the features of the Haechi men is the reduced profile where the men’s futon meets the menbuchi, giving it a streamlined look and improving the overall balance to reduce neck fatigue and prevent injury. This does not mean we have made the futon thinner. The futon is still well-packed with high quality shock absorbant materials to protect your head from men-waza.
The forehead is designed with a shock-absorbing space to reduce the initial shock and damage when struck.
The uchiwa is made with the same high-quality momen cotton used in the futon to improve comfort, fit and ease of care. The well-fitting of the uchiwa is important in preventing the shaking of the men even during rigorous movement.

Pitch-Zashi
The longer stitching makes the futon softer and improves its comfort when worn. The 6mm stitch width also provides the best overall protection.
Gunome-Zashi
The futon’s central area covering the head and ears has 6mm stitching for improved protection, and the mendare is 3mm to improve durability and help retain the mendare’s shape.
Mendare Length
The futon itself is 20cm wide, and depending on the size of the men, the wing or mendare length differs:

IMOMUSHI STYLE • PROTECTIVE & COMFORTABLE KOTE
The standard orizashi kote comes pre-loaded with protection and comfort. Ready to use straight out of the box and helps with your tenouchi. Standard with clarino palms, but optional upgrades are available to replace the palm with ultra-suede or deerskin.
Unless your play jodan, the majority of kendoka are chudan, and our right kote get’s hit a lot. So we implemented a thicker futon on the right kote for added protection.
Your grip or tenouchi matters tremendously when practicing kendo. The Haechi’s kote allows for natural gripping, comfortable wrist movement, and most importantly: protection.
DESIGNED TO HELP YOUR CHUDAN
It’s a simple plastic Do, but the smallest innovation helps your chudan-no-kamae.
The doudai is basic plastic/PVC, and the mune is made with kurozon leather with premium rayon kazari. We kept the design simple and clean.
Please note the mune. We created a slight indent to allow your elbow to tuck in comfortably into your sides for a comfortable chudan-no-kamae. This will reduce your elbows from flaring out when you are in your chudan stance.
The Do comes included in the standard set, however not included in the Premium and Special Editions.
Protective, Comfortable, and Light.
A lot of people overlook the importance of the tare. It protects your legs and groin, so it needs to be very protective, and also well designed to accommodate comfortable leg movement. Our tare is designed just for that purpose and to improve your kendo experience.
